Sleep under the stars.

Make the awe last even longer by camping at the Nature Reserve of Orange County.

Park your RV on a bluff-top campground or pitch a tent on a primitive backcountry site for a fully immersive experience.

You can wake up to the sound of surf or watch the sun set over the ocean at Crystal Cove State Park, which offers camping experiences that capture the best of Southern California’s coast. For those who prefer plumbing and proximity to amenities, check out Moro Campground—about half of its 60 campsites feature hookups. The campground perched above the Pacific with sweeping ocean views and easy beach access, perfect for families and first-timers.

For something more rugged, reserve one of the park’s 32 hike-in sites. Tucked among rolling hills and coastal sage scrub, they’re just a few miles inland but feel wholly remote. This kind of backcountry camping is completely no-frills—just quiet trails, wide-open skies, and the rustle of woodrats and other native species in the surrounding habitat. Carry in what you need, and leave with a deeper connection to Orange County’s wilderness.
