A thriving ecosystem.
The Nature Reserve of Orange County is one of Earth’s most biodiverse areas, second only to the rainforest.
Walk through any part of the NROC, and you can tell how special this place is. Hawks soar overhead, desert cottontails hop in the shrubs, and the earthy, sweet scent of California sagebrush reminds you to be absolutely present. It's one of the most unique habitats on our planet, and the Reserve was created to make sure it stays that way.
The Reserve is home to 39 protected plant and animal species, and many more that make these incredible habitats hum. Get to know some of the NROC’s wildlife.
